The past couple of weeks we’ve been hyping the launch of our COPD Shuttle: Journey to the Center of the Lung and it’s finally here! Last Sunday, we launched the Shuttle to the medical professional community at the American Thoracic Society Conference in New Orleans, LA. (Check out a video of the Shuttle arriving at the New Orleans Convention Center.)
Over 2,800 physicians, researchers, and members of the public took a virtual ride through the human lungs, and saw the effects of environmental factors and genetics. Rave reviews are trickling in from those who were part of it.
After New Orleans, the Shuttle traveled to Raleigh, NC for its first public event. Hundreds and hundreds of people rode the shuttle and learned about the effects of lung disease. Next stop, Bethesda, MD this Thursday.
It’s a very exciting time for the COPD community! Imagine the thousands of symptomatic and undiagnosed that are going to go through this ride. Think about the family members that will take the ride, unknowingly what it’s really about, and then come out of there with knowledge about COPD and maybe a person in mind that they think might have symptoms. What better way to spread awareness to the 12 million undiagnosed individuals?

Ifdy, is there a schedule/calendar for where the shuttle will be going? I would like to post it and keep announcing as it goes in different directions. When will it reach Colorado, do you know yet?.

The schedule’s still being developed as we speak, so as soon as we have another public event scheduled, we’ll post in on our calendar. Be sure to check back frequently!
