It’s that time again!  The Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) have collaborated with the European Lung Foundation (ELF) for World Spirometry Day 2012 (WSD), an awareness campaign urging people from across the globe to learn about and participate in spirometry, a simple lung function test.

WSD 2012’s commencement date is June 27, but testing is not limited to this day alone.  In fact, many events are scheduled in the weeks preceding the 2012 Olympics and will continue throughout the year.  Want to be involved?  Check out the site!  If you would like to organize an event in your area, please submit your information here.

WSD was hugely successful in 2010 with over 100,000 tests performed!  Let’s help make this year even greater.  As you know, spirometry is a simple yet crucial test in determining lung health and can aid in the early diagnosis of COPD.  Let’s spread the word about World Spirometry Day 2012 and support our international lung health community!
