Danica Patrick, NASCAR driver and COPD advocate, has her first DRIVE4COPD-centered media day today in Chicago! The focus of her interviews are COPD statistics and the DRIVE4COPD campaign. She will be speaking to a number of media outlets, including: Shape Magazine, WFLD-TV “Good Day Chicago”, FoxNews.com, and more.
Danica will highlight:
- In more than two years, DRIVE4COPD has screened nearly 2.5 million Americans for their risk of COPD.
- There is still much work to be done, because of the approximately 24 million Americans who have COPD, and as many as half of those people (12 million) don’t know it.
- The DRIVE4COPD campaign is now being led by the COPD Foundation, and has many exciting projects in the works.
- Please visit DRIVE4COPD.ORG to learn more and take the five-question screener to see if you may be at risk for COPD.
If you live in the Chicago area, please tune into the local media outlets to catch the news coverage. For anyone else who may wish to see some of her local interviews, we will be sure to post clips as soon as they are available!
She will also hold a full-day of DRIVE4COPD interviews in New York and Los Angeles in the near future. There, she will promote the COPD Foundation’s DRIVE4COPD campaign, and in November specifically – COPD Awareness Month.
We are delighted to work with Danica on raising awareness for COPD!! After seeing her grandmother lived with the disease, Danica decided to show her support by serving as a DRIVE4COPD celebrity ambassador. We appreciate the work she has done so far and look forward to future media events!
